Intellectual Property & Proprietary Rights

All design drawings, floor plans, elevations, selections boards, priced finish and fixture lists, written content, photographs and portfolio images on this website or delivered as part of a project (together, the “Materials”) are the sole and exclusive property of Ryan Mathews Design. The Materials are protected by United States and international copyright and intellectual property laws. Ryan Mathews Design keeps all rights, title and interest in the Materials, including after a project is complete and paid for, unless a separate written agreement signed by Ryan Mathews says otherwise.

You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view the Materials for your own personal, non-commercial use. This license does not transfer ownership and may be withdrawn at any time. Without the express written consent of Ryan Mathews, you may not:

• Copy, reproduce, replicate or redistribute the Materials, in whole or in part.
• Recreate a drawing, layout or priced list from photographs or documents for another project or for commercial use.
• Modify the Materials or create derivative works from them.
• Sell, license, publish or use the Materials for any commercial purpose.
• Remove or alter any copyright notice, watermark, credit or other proprietary marking.

Any use not expressly allowed here is prohibited. Buying a product shown on this site for your own house is always fine.

If you’re a client, you may use the drawings, selections and priced list for your own project: share them with the contractors you’re considering, and order and build from them. Section 03 covers how those contractors may use them.

Portfolio Image Use Policy

Personal sharing is welcome, with credit. You may share portfolio images from this site on your personal social media accounts or save them to Pinterest only if both of the following are true:

• The image is clearly credited to “Ryan Mathews Design.”
• The post or pin includes a working link back to ryanmathewsdesign.com.

Images must be shared as they are. Do not crop out credits, add filters or edits that misrepresent the work, or suggest that the design is your own or anyone else’s.

Commercial use is strictly prohibited. Interior designers, contractors, cabinet shops, showrooms, retailers, manufacturers, real estate professionals and any other business may not use Ryan Mathews Design images for any commercial purpose. That includes websites, advertising, social media marketing, sales presentations, printed materials, listings and portfolios. Using these images in a way that suggests the work belongs to, or was endorsed by, another business is a violation of these terms and of copyright law.

Contractor Drawing & Specification Use Policy

This policy applies to every general contractor, subcontractor, tradesperson, fabricator, supplier and other third party (each a “Contractor”) who receives drawings, layouts, elevations, finish and fixture specifications, selections boards or priced lists prepared by Ryan Mathews Design (the “Project Documents”), whether from Ryan Mathews Design directly or from the client.

Permitted use. Project Documents are provided strictly for two purposes:

• Pricing the specific client’s project.
• Carrying out the physical construction or installation of that specific client’s room, at that client’s property.

No other use is allowed.

No transfer of ownership. Receiving, printing or building from Project Documents does not give a Contractor any ownership of, or rights in, the design. The design and the Project Documents remain the sole intellectual property of Ryan Mathews Design.

Prohibited use. Without the express written consent of Ryan Mathews, Contractors are strictly prohibited from:

• Reusing, replicating or adapting the Project Documents, or the design they show, for any other client, property or construction project.
• Modifying the Project Documents, or issuing altered versions of them, except as needed for the approved project and with Ryan Mathews Design’s knowledge.
• Using the Project Documents themselves in marketing, advertising, websites, social media, portfolios, award submissions or sales presentations.
• Sharing the Project Documents with anyone not directly involved in pricing or building the client’s project.

A Contractor may post photographs of a finished room it built, credited “Design: Ryan Mathews Design.”

Changes to the design during construction go through the client, who can ask Ryan Mathews Design to revise the Project Documents.

Unauthorized use of Project Documents is an infringement of Ryan Mathews Design’s copyright, and Ryan Mathews Design reserves all rights and remedies available under law. To request permission, email ryan@ryanmathewsdesign.com.

Privacy Policy

What we collect. We collect basic contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number and project address, along with the project details you choose to share. We collect it through the inquiry form on this website, and when you call, text or email us directly.

Site analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It uses cookies and records things like your device, browser and the pages you view. It doesn’t receive what you type into the inquiry form. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. No company other than Google, through Google Analytics, uses tracking code on this site.

How we use it. We use this information only to reply to your inquiry, schedule visits to your home and communicate with you about your project. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not add you to marketing lists.

We do not sell your data. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information. We share it only with the companies that run this site, email and phone for Ryan Mathews Design, such as Netlify (hosting and form storage) and Google Analytics, and with the contractor you have chosen for your project. When the project requires it, we share the details that contractor needs, such as your name, contact information and project address, and only for the purpose of your project.

How we protect it. We protect your information using standard secure hosting protocols. This website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and inquiry form submissions are encrypted in transit and stored with our secure hosting provider. Access is limited to Ryan Mathews Design. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Your choices. You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing ryan@ryanmathewsdesign.com.

Fees

First visit: $350 for 90 minutes at your house. If you don’t have a price range for your room’s finishes and fixtures when the visit ends, you don’t pay for it. If you do, the $350 is credited toward the first thing you book within 30 days.

Room fees cover the design and the priced list. Changes after you sign off, and check-ins during construction, are $175 an hour. Contractor work, custom drapes and anything you buy at retail are paid directly to whoever provides them. Furnishings ordered through Ryan Mathews Design’s trade accounts are paid for before they’re ordered, either to Ryan Mathews Design or directly to the vendor.

Changes & Contact

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
